What is this intervertebral quren-daisque?<\/p>\n

In the canter, a rounded mass made of a semi-liquid gelatinous substance composed of 88% water (nucleus pulposus).<\/p>\n

Why back pain?<\/p>\n

Heavy loads and one’s own weight cause: a compression of the vertebrae and the fibrous ring of the disc cracks; the gelatinous substance of the nucleus infiltrates these cracks and spreads to the peripheral lamellae of the ring and the paravertebral ligament; these containing many nerves, the pain appears: it is lumbago or “back pain”.<\/p>\n

If the pain is sudden, a muscular contracture occurs by a reflex which blocks the movements of the trunk: it is lumbago or “back pain”.<\/p>\n
